Civil Services (Prel) Exam, 2009 Notification

UPSC has delayed the notification of IAS 2009 (CSP 2009) and according to the UPSC website the date of notification will be 06th Dec. 2008.

Date of Notification : 06th Dec. 2008
Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 05th Jan 2009 (Monday)
Date/Day of Commencement of Examination 17th May 2009 (Sunday)
 
Civil Services (Main) Exam, 2009
Date/Day of Commencement of Examination  23rd Oct. 2009 (Friday)
Duration : 21 days
Note :-
1.  The dates of notification and commencement of the examinations and the conditions of eligibility indicated above are liable to alteration, if the circumstances so warrant.

2.  Commission's advertisements containing details of the various examinations are published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and leading daily newspapers of the Country, generally in their Saturday editions.  For further details, please see the Notice/Rules for the Examination, after the same has been notified.

Hi Sam,
Yes, they are eligible and they can opt any subject not necessarily there own subject of graduation.

i the form they were asking abt the optional code in 19 col. i the information brochure i din't find any thing like that.. nad tell me about the CRF stamp also.. plzz help me out. thx in advance.

IAM A CONVERTED HINDU. MY ACADEMIC CERTIFICATES ARE IN MUSLIM NAME. MY ADDRESS PROFF,S ARE IN MY HINDU NAME. I HAVE PUBLISHED ABOUT MY CONVERT IN TAMILNADU GOVT GEZETTE. SHALL I WRITE THE CSE EXAM ? WHAT ARE THE STEPS SHOULD I TAKE REGARDING THIS. PLEASE TELL ME......VINOTH

Hi Vinoth,
sorry dear I don't have any idea about that and can't say much abt that but I wud suggest u to contact UPSC office to get the official response, u get their phone number from upsc website upsc.gov.in , as far as I know there sud not be any problem in taking exam but the problem is the mismatch of names in the certificates so if u have applied for change of names in ur certificate that will be alright but I think that will be a tedious job and I don't think u need to do that as u have told u have published ur convert name in gazette then I think a copy of that will suffice but better consult upsc office as its a matter of ur career.

i am a final year student of b.tech.i will give my final paper of 8th sem in may 2009. its result will be out by july-august. can i appear in cse 2009?pls clear my doubt .thnx in advance

Yes you can appear in the IAS 2009 Exam, there is one column in form where you have to mark appeared,

i am 3rd year student of B.E.,actully i want to prepare for civils,so i cant choosen my regular subjects because i studied polytechnic,i want to select the optional subject for comuters(cse).

I think by comuters u mean computer science, isn't that ?
