Former Miss India Nafisha Ali to contest from Lucknow as a Samajwadi Party candidate after Supreme Court refused to allow Sanjay Dutt to contest election, earlier there were also rumours that Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanyta may contest from there. Earlier she had contested against Mamya Banerjee but was defeated. She is working as social activist from last many years.
Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram got a notice from Election Commission for violation of model code of conduct, he talked about granting citizenship to displaced Hindus from Pakistan and addition facilities for passengers travelling by Thar Express.
It seems violation of code of conduct become daily event and Election Commission has to look at many of these event in the coming days. After Varun Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Jaswant Singh, P. Chidamabaram is the latest major leader who got the ire of Election Commssion.
